The short version

Sawdust Math currently carries no advertising and no affiliate links. No company pays for the calculators, the reference charts, or the sources they cite, and no company pays to be mentioned, ranked, or linked.

How the content is made

Each calculator starts from a published formula or reference table, such as the USDA Forest Products Laboratory Wood Handbook and woodworking safety guidance from the American Association of Woodturners, linked on its page where one exists. Where published worked examples or tables exist, we compare the results and show the comparison, and some tools also have automated tests. Each tool page has a “Checks” line saying what was and was not verified. Where a number is a rule of thumb rather than a measured value, we try to say so on the page.

If that changes

If we ever add advertising or affiliate links, this page and the Privacy Policy will be updated before the change goes live. Any paid link will be labeled where it appears, will sit next to a plain-language disclosure, and will not change what a calculator computes.
